FORD RANGER SUPER DUTY

145 LITRE AUXILIARY LONG RANGE FUEL TANK

For owners of the Ford Ranger Super Duty who are serious about off-road touring, range and reliability are everything. That’s exactly where the new Brown Davis 145-litre auxiliary fuel tank comes into its own.

Designed to mount in the original spare wheel location, this tank makes smart use of space that many touring setups no longer need. With more drivers relocating their spare wheel to the rear of canopies or trays, the underbody cavity becomes the perfect home for extra fuel capacity—without compromising practicality or clearance.

This 145-litre auxiliary tank seamlessly integrates with the Ranger’s factory 130-litre tank, delivering a massive combined capacity of 275 litres. For those pushing even further into remote territory, it can also be paired with the Brown Davis 230-litre replacement tank, unlocking an enormous total of 375 litres onboard. That kind of capacity transforms long-distance travel, giving you the confidence to explore further between fuel stops.

Operation is simple and intuitive. At the push of a button, fuel is transferred from the rear auxiliary tank into the main tank, where it’s then used by the vehicle. A compact switch, fuel gauge, and buzzer unit can be neatly installed within the cabin for easy access and monitoring. Once the auxiliary tank has fully transferred its contents, the buzzer sounds—prompting you to switch off the pump and protecting the system from unnecessary wear.

Built from tough 2mm aluminised steel, the tank is engineered to handle the harshest conditions. It’s a natural match for the rugged capability of the Ranger Super Duty itself—two tough performers working together to take you further.

When your build is all about capability, endurance, and freedom, this setup delivers on all fronts.

Go further. Stay longer. Take on your longest journeys with total confidence—and no fuel worries.

Supplied with slim line twin filler. Fits into most tray mounting points.

POLY LONG RANGE FUEL TANKS

Building a Brown Davis Tank

Since the beginning, Brown Davis has taken pride in the construction of our tanks, our Next-Gen Ranger tank is no exception. Our tanks are made with quality and care, from the materials we use to the stringent pressure testing, they are prepared for the harshest conditions.

Laser Cut Aluminized Steel

Manufacturing our steel tanks starts with laser cut aluminized steel. With this material, your tank will have the strength and durability of steel, and the anti-corrosive properties of aluminum to make sure their is no rust.

Folded Before Welded

Before welding the tank, we use specialized machinery to fold the laser cut aluminized steel to decrease the amount of time and labor put into welding. Folded parts also have superior strength to welded parts.

High Quality Welding Every Time

Next, our experienced welders add the brackets, swirl pot and baffles to the tank and then weld it all off.  We use jigs to locate the brackets for each individual tank so installation is as consistent and easy as possible for every vehicle.

Pressure Testing

Lastly, we take it through an air pressure test. This involves a soap test, submersion test and a pressure gauge. These techniques help us identify any rare leaks and where they’re coming from. If air isn’t coming out, fuel definitely isn’t.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes.. All Brown Davis Fuel Tanks come with everything required to be fitted to your vehicle. This includes auxiliary (secondary) Fuel Tanks which come with electric fuel pump, hoses, wiring and fuel gauge.

After the installation of any Long Range Fuel Tank the vehicles fuel gauge (needle fuel gauge) will change slightly. This will be different in each vehicle depending on the tank shape. Some tanks will remain on full for a few hundred kilometres due to the extra height in the new tank. In most of the more popular tanks, we supply a special float arm to go with our tank, this gives a more accurate reading for the gauge. What we do make sure of is that the vehicles low fuel light and empty point is accurate on all tanks. This is of course the point on the gauge you want to make is correct.
